◎简　　介
　　1999年的最后几天，Lenny却没有多少新年的喜悦，倍感孤独的他对前女友Faith念念不忘。Lenny是一个洛杉矶退休警探，平日工作并不拼命，倒是擅长跟三教九流的人打交道。一天他收到了一份匿名的磁盘，里面是一段残酷的奸杀过程，而受害者正是他熟识的妓女。同时，Lenny和助手Macey发现自己已陷于一张由谋杀，敲诈和QJ编织而成的网……Lenny的前女友Faith和音乐界巨头Philo Grante打得火热，而Jeriko旗下曾经有一名政治上颇有影响的说唱歌手Jeriko One，Jeriko的被谋杀让整个洛杉矶陷入恐慌。Lenny发现Jeriko原是被洛杉矶警方所杀，他意识到Faith可能会有危险，究竟他能不能在这场头绪繁多的劫难中全身而退呢……

　　在当时看来，本片多少带点科幻性质。本片编剧是大名鼎鼎的James Cameron，他努力塑造出一个普通警探的真实生活，片中大量使用的主观镜头也很好地贯彻了他的意图。本片**度的情节交错使其无需以强劲cast取胜，娱乐性与想象之严谨均属上乘。女导演Kathryn Bigelow继1990年的《Blue Steel》后再次证明了自己的功力。
